Accessibility

MX bus service is accessible to persons with disabilities. All MX buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts that enable persons in wheelchairs or persons who cannot navigate steps to ride the bus. Operators are trained to assist riders use wheelchair lifts, secure wheelchairs, provide information on destinations served, and announce stops, including any stop you request. You may travel with your respirator, concentrator, and portable oxygen. Service animals are welcome on board buses and in our facilities. Public information is available in alternative formats upon request.

Reasonable Modification Policy

Senior Transportation Services

Mountain Express (MX) offers senior transportation services for seniors of Gunnison County. Rides are available for local trips and appointments in Crested Butte and Gunnison, as well as longer-distance travel to Montrose and Grand Junction. To schedule a ride, please contact Barbara at 970‑275‑4768 at least seven days in advance, Monday–Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. There is no cost for riders age 60+, though donations are gratefully accepted and encouraged. Donor Acknowledgement: Senior transportation program services are generously funded by the Gunnison Valley RTA.

ADA Complementary Paratransit Services

MX offers ADA Complementary Paratransit (curb-to-curb) transportation service for eligible disabled passengers (based upon criteria established by the American with Disabilities Act). Those individuals with disabilities, who are unable to utilize the regular MX Fixed Route service may be eligible for this service.
