Accessibility

MX bus service is accessible to persons with disabilities. All MX buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts that enable persons in wheelchairs or persons who cannot navigate steps to ride the bus. Operators are trained to assist riders use wheelchair lifts, secure wheelchairs, provide information on destinations served, and announce stops, including any stop you request. You may travel with your respirator, concentrator, and portable oxygen. Service animals are welcome on board buses and in our facilities. Public information is available in alternative formats upon request.

Reasonable Modification Policy

Passengers with disabilities may request modifications to current service procedures to access the service. To make a request, please call us at (970) 349-5616. Please submit requests at least the day before the trip. Click here for the Mountain Express Reasonable Modification Policy.

Senior Transportation Services

The MX provides senior transportation service in partnership with Gunnison County. MX provides demand response transportation service to seniors of Gunnison County who reside in Mt. Crested Butte, Crested Butte, and the surrounding north valley communities, to the same locations and on the same schedule as was provided by the Two Buttes Senior Center.
To arrange a ride on the service, please contact Barbara at least 24 hours in advance at 970-275-4768.
There is no charge for those 60+, however donations a gratefully accepted and encouraged.

Donor Acknowledgement: Senior transportation program services are generously funded, in part, by Region 10 Area Agency on Aging and contributions from Gunnison County, City of Gunnison, RTA and ridership donations. ADA Complementary Paratransit Services

The MX offers ADA Complementary Paratransit (curb-to-curb) transportation service for eligible disabled passengers (based upon criteria established by the American with Disabilities Act). Those individuals with disabilities, who are unable to utilize the regular MX Fixed Route service may be eligible for this service.
